Arriving at Springwood Cottages Resort: Upon arrival all guests are required to first check in with our staff at the Main Office.  This is where you will obtain the key to your cottage, as well as pay any outstanding balances.  You will also find details regarding our rental services, tours, maps; and all the additional upgrades available to you.

Damage Deposits: $250 preauthorization damage deposit is required on all cottage and water craft rentals. We have implemented these deposits at the request of our insurance company.  This protects us as renters in the event that damage is done to our equipment, and also enables you to run a tab with us for additional services (including store items), up to the amount of the deposit.  Any damages that occur by cottage renters or guests of the renter will result in an automatic loss of the security deposit.

We would like to stress to all our guests that Springwood is our home as well as our business; we ask that you: Please treat our home, as if it were your own.

Any form of vandalism, graffiti, or destruction to the property or cottages, will NOT be tolerated.  In the unfortunate event that this rule is NOT respected, the persons involved must face a series of consequences.  An automatic lose of the security deposit, as well as the cost of any damages incurred (including the cost of labour required of our staff). The individuals involved must also be prepared to leave the resort immediately.  Refusal to vacate the property will result in police involvement.  Our local law enforcement is prepared to remove any un-wanted and un-cooperative patrons; as well as investigate any potential criminal matters at hand.

Our zero tolerance policy in this matter is implemented to benefit everyone; to ensure that all our guests have the most enjoyable stay at our resort.

We truly appreciate your respect and understanding in this matter.

Visitors to Your Cottage: Cottage renters are allowed to invite additional visitors while staying with us; provided their guests are fully aware of, and prepared to follow, the policies and regulations enforced at our resort.  Prior to your extra guests arriving, please make arrangements with management to inform us of how many extra guests will be arriving so we can be sure everyone is accommodated accordingly.  Each cottage is designed to accommodate a certain number of people and ONLY Management is to determine how many additional guests is acceptable in each cottage.

Day and overnight visitors: $25 per person.

Failure to follow any of these rules and regulations mentioned above will result in a clean up fee and/or loss of security deposit. (Please see service rates for penalty fees on the very bottom of this page)

Fishing RulesPlease be respectful of our lake.  The more fish left in the lake ensures lots of fish next year.  The MNR put limits on fish to ensure certain species continue to thrive.  Certain species and sizes of fish are prime restockers of our lake.  We have a chart in our store concerning what size of fish should be put back.  The bigger the fish, the more eggs they will lay. Also please remember that the fish without limits are prime feed for the fish with limits, so please respect the number of fish taken from the lake.  300-400 in one day is too many.

Open Fires Rules: Please let us know if you plan to have a bon fire on the beach because we have to ensure that there is not a fire ban at the time.  Failure to do so may result in a fine from the fire department up to $5000.00 and loss of your damage deposit.

Gas / Flammable Items: Some of our cottages are equipped with woodstoves.  Firewood for these stoves is provided at no additional cost.  Please use only hardwood for the woodstoves for safety reasons.  If you are unsure or uncomfortable with starting your woodstove, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.  Please do not use the hardwood for campfires.  If you do, you will be charged accordingly.  Campfire wood is available to purchase at our store, costing $15 to $20 for a 30 to 40 lb bag.

Important:

Due to insurance, environmental and safety concerns, we ask all guests who are planning to bring extra gas in portable jerry can containers or any type of propane containers into the resort to respect our rules and regulation regarding this matter. We do not allow portable jerry containers to be stored inside or outside of your cottage either. For this kind of storage please use your own car, boat or our safe in-closed storage room at the pump gas. Do not leave any propane containers behind, and do not place them into the disposal garbage trailer or any other garbage bins. Please note that we have gas and oil available, as well as on lake services.

Outdoor Lights: For your safety we have installed new lighting for outside of your cottage.  Please remember to turn off these lights if you are not using them.  The lights may bother other cottager when they are sleeping. Also remember to turn off all lights in the day and before you leave. By cutting down our cost consumption of hydro, you are helping to keep the price of renting cottages down as well. We hope that your stay with us is an enjoyable and memorable time for you.  If there is anything that will make your stay more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to ask.  If we do not have it, we will try and get it.
